Guidelines for Submitting Public Comments for AHFA Draft Plans

AHFA develops and implements Housing Trust Fund, HOME, and Housing Tax Credit allocation plans each year. These plans include selection criteria, an evaluation process, environmental and construction requirements, and compliance monitoring procedures and penalties. 

A Notice of Public Hearing is published in major newspapers detailing the location, date, and time that AHFA will hold a public hearing concerning the draft plans. An email blast is also sent to those that have signed up on our website to join our mailing list. Those that wish to present oral comments should appear at the public hearing. 

A Comment Form will be made available after the public hearing for those who wish to present written comments. Use the following guidelines when submitting written comments:

  • Read the plans. Changes are made to the plans and addendums so it is important to read them in entirety.
  • Submit comments using the AHFA required Comment Form that will be located at http://www.ahfa.com/multifamily/allocation-application-information/current-year-allocation-plans.
  • Provide the submittal date and complete contact information.
  • Choose the Plan Section & Section Reference using a drop down menu in each box.
  • List the specific Page Number(s) of the plan(s) you are referencing.
  • Do not include cut and paste text (or red lined/re-worded sections) from the draft plans.
  • Give a concise explanation of your proposed changes or comments.
  • Send comments as an email attachment and send to the email link that will be provided on the Comment Form.
Submit comments by 5:00 pm on the deadline date. No exceptions.
