How Do I Qualify?

In compliance with program regulations, projects receiving funding from AHFA must reserve their units for people earning less than the area median income. In addition, units are subject to controls designed to ensure that rents remain affordable. Rents may increase or decrease from year to year and are not necessarily representative of market conditions.

Income and rent limits are established annually by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and vary based on the type of funding the project received and when it completed construction.

Please note that AHFA does not own or manage rental properties. Each housing development AHFA finances has an independent owner and housing manager that accepts applications for housing and screens tenants. To apply, please contact the apartment's management directly.
